AMERICAS
A COLLECTIVE SHOW October 3 - December 31, 2020 We are pleased to announce the opening of our next show, Americas, this Saturday, October 3.
The concept of America / American has always been a complicated one, fraught with misconceptions regarding where the geographical boundaries meet the more complex cultural boundaries of the region. First, we must recognize that the geographical area designated as the Americas, encompasses the regions now known as Canada, North America (United States), Central America, at times the Caribbean, and South America.
We are delighted to have this exhibit coincide with National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sep. 15 - Oct. 15) as we celebrate the diversity of Hispanic cultures in the Americas.
Participating Artists
Lita Alburquerque (U.S.), Abel Barroso (Cuba), Jose Bedia (Cuba / U.S.), Tony Berlant (U.S.), Oscar Bony (Argentina), Juan Roberto Diago (Cuba), Edouard Duval-Carrie (Haiti / U.S.), Ana Fabry (Argentina), Leon Ferrari (Argentina), Wanda Fraga (Cuba), Luis Gonzalez-Palma (Guatemala), Raul Martinez (Cuba), Ronald Moran (El Salvador), Jim Morphesis (U.S.), Santiago Rodriguez Olazabal (Cuba), Santiago Porter (Argentina), and Jose Toirac (Cuba). 100 Years of Cuban Art
A charity auction to support Friends of Caritas Cuba August 8 - 23, 2020 Pan American Art Projects is pleased to announce 100 YEARS OF CUBAN ART, a charity auction to support Friends of Caritas Cuba with the donation of 25% of the sales proceeds. The sale will start running online on Invaluable.com on August 8th, culminating in the Online Live Auction on Sunday, August 23rd. Bids can be entered at any time (together with secret maximum bids) from Aug 8 but will not become final until the Live Auction.
Our catalogue of works includes important names of Cuban art masters, such as Leopoldo Romañach, Víctor Manuel, Carlos Enríquez, Amelia Pelaez, Mariano Rodríguez, René Portocarrero, as well as contemporary established artists like Roberto Fabelo, Jose Bedia, Pedro Pablo Oliva, J. Roberto Diago, and Sandra Ramos, among several others.
We have set up an online Viewing Room where the press and the public can find a curated selection of pieces highlighting the sale.
Mauricio Vivero, CEO of Friends of Caritas Cuba, said: “We are delighted to partner with PAAP, and thank them for their strong commitment to helping Cuba's most vulnerable people”. Caritas Cuba is the island's largest humanitarian organization and in 2019 served over 48,000 individuals.
The gallery team will be available to help by phone if bidders require assistance placing bids on the site. We will also be happy to receive interested people at the gallery, where the works in the Online Viewing Room are actually installed in a dedicated exhibit room, for viewing in person. All other works in the auction can also be seen at the gallery by making an appointment and following the government safety rules for Covid-19. Read more -
